928 Survival Kit

She is running well enough I'm going to take her out on a real trip...
This is one of those threads that is half joke and half serious:
What do you guys keep in your travel box?
(Stan, please ignore KnN sticker )
Here's what I have so far:

Voltmeter
Fuses
jumper wire
basic tool set, not counting the "tools" that came with the car
one quart oil (noticed how I used the generic form of oil to avoid arguments).

run flat (unless you are lucky to have a spare)
10,13 mm socket/ratchet and flat screwdriver
fire extinguisher (but more handy than the toolbox)
flashlight
fuse and relay chart (and bifocals to read them)

Have your Iphone so you can get on Pelican if something strange comes up with the car. Not many places who can fix a 928 out in the hinter land.....middle of Idaho or Montana.

That looks more like a suicide kit unless you plan on strapping it down. T

Yes - don't let it be a projectile.

Mainly you need a credit card with a nice high limit, AAA with towing, add some std relays, tire inflator, tire repair kit, hose repair tape - pretty much there.

Good maintenance is the best thing to have...

Put some extra water in your cooler beyond what you need to drink...

Check fluid levels before you set out.

A copy of the 928OC road help list would be nice.

Lol. That is a good point, I didn't think about the box becoming a guided missile.
I do like the sound of the suicide kit, sounds cooler anyway.

iPhone, check.
fire extinguisher, check (always in the car, from previous experience)
gorilla tape, check.
Gas level is a guess on cluster. Oil Pressure always pegged on cluster. Check.

I think its a go.
I'm not taking any fluids with me, I've decided to drink my own urine to stay alive until help comes.

You guys may or may not hear from me again.

P.S. Ron, I leave next week but if something happens I want you to get first pick of my tools.
P.S.S. Matt, I'm leaving you my 65 pound iron pumpkin muffler to put on the RS.

Heck, if it goes bad, we'll come get ya!

I'd rethink the urine thing tho', bottled water don't take that much space.....

If you are heading out west through the deserts - taking water along is not really an optional item - you will want to drink something anyway - but in an emergency it may save you from at least serious personal discomfort...

LOL...Tool kit?

Sound system takes up the entire back hatch area. I got room for a can of Fix-a-Flat, behind driver's seat! LOL

All joking aside, I have a small tool bag, but, usually I don't go that far anyway. IF I were to actually take the 928 on a decent trip, then yeah, that bag would most certainly be in the car. Mostly I drive it local. Sometimes to work, or a car show, or maybe just hop on the highway for an hour to blow out the carbon...

Same as my SAAB one: cell phone and a bus pass.
