Anyone Have Source for Exhaust X-Pipe for 16V Engine?
For M12 engine, 4.7 litre 16V, I need from the headers back - no CATS, No air pipe, no OX sensor.
OTT has the exact needed design, but only for 32V systems, seen here- ![]() I can't find similar for 16V engine. I have found an H-Pipe, but I don't want to use an H ![]() Any help would be appreciated.

I didn't want to change the stock headers if I could help it. A week of looking for this, looks like I'll have to have someone fabricate or I'll have to fabricate myself, which I do not know how to do

uBoat, you might go check out Rennlist.com. there are many more fabricators over there that might have a solution for you.

You actually can hurt your performance if you don't know what you're doing along these lines. Louis Ott, Dave Lomas, the MSDS folks et al did extensive testing to increase performance.

Roger I think sells the Dave Lomas X, but I don't know fitment details relative to the 16v. The common setup is to use a set of US 85/86 exhaust manifold on an early motor and that requires a small adapter on one side.
Its some serious money, but I am thinking I will go with a full Greg Brown exhaust, makes more power and torque than anybody else and has a H at the front and X at the rear. |

You want a Y pipe, not the X. Last I heard Roger does sell them.

In the pursuit of going fast, there is a very limited amount of gain that comes cheap, and at several points all the options are kinda pricey to get to the next level.
Question I ask is it expensive, or Porsche expensive. If you are at say 320 rwhp, and you have a strong itch for a "little" more power, there isn't anything cheap left to do, maybe nitrous, but that makes a drag car out of a 928 more than anything. Greg likes to make torque, and on a strong motor, a Euro hybrid, or a 32v or a stroker, his exhaust system has the best gain in torque and rwhp that at a couple grand nothing else will give the same gain/$. His design is a bit different, but it seems to work. |

Try Summit Racing.com You can buy a close coupled X pipe, and a muffler shop can connect your existing pipes to it. Parts and labor should be much under $150.

I was unable to find anyone that had a complete downpipe to tailpipe solution with an x-pipe for a 16V.
I did find this with an H, fully stainless, with rear resonator, for $1400 new ![]()
