Varies by material and labor. Removing and replacing the dash isn't hard, but time consuming. Recovering the dash takes some skill, but many do it themselves fine. Vinyl is fairly cheap, Porsche grade leather and automotive grade Alcantara are not cheap. Ballpark $300 or less all cheap and all DIY, to maybe $1500 for a good shop and materials.

I also found a Weissach 2 hours away for $2k. Considering it as a donor if the interior is decent..

I remember being told, when I had just joined the forums, that you can do an "s (or s4?) brake" upgrade. My brakes are pretty bad and I'm wanting to do something about it. I've done a few quick searches and haven't found much info. Can anyone point me in the right direction, or share your knowledge on the subject?

Define bad?

The Porsche 928 does NOT have American style light touch brakes, it has progressive keep pushing harder brakes. Upgrading to the S brakes should be plenty for street use, but I don't know what parts you need. I would start a new thread when you are ready to start accumulating parts etc.

S brakes should be fairly cheap, cost of new rotors and pads a normal expense, and rest low demand used parts. Going to S4 brakes and you need costly high demand used parts and more of them.

Thank you danglerb. The brakes may not be bad compared to other 928s or any 30 year old car, just not as good as I'm used to. I recently had my rotors turned and I replaced the pads a couple years ago. I may look in to s brakes in the future.

Hey guys. Here's an update on the situation:

I had the dent taken out and primered. I figured there is no point in spending money getting it painted since the rest of the cars paint is pretty bad. It looks good, besides being green, and its just about ready for paint once I have the money. I'll provide pics later.

You can see there are still scratches on the door, and between the door and the wheel. He said he will fix that when we paint. It would just mean having to primer the door.
