Noob question on tyres/wheels/pressure loss sensors...

Hey guys - The old girl failed her 6 month warrant this week - time for some new rubber. Previous owner had 255/50R16 which I guess accounts for the bad speedo tracking. Manual says 245/45R16 - which seem to be almost impossible to source.

If I decide to future proof and go for 17" rims (It seems these are much easier to replace), is there anything that can be done to retain the tyre pressure loss sensors? I'm guessing these are rim (and probably Porsche) specific, so unless Ferdinand and the boys made 17" ones for the 959 that are compatible, I may have to ditch that feature?
