Muffler under tip rusting
Hi folks! New to 944s. Just bought this car (86 951). Found out muffler tip is rusted out. Can you suggest a temporary fix as it seems the system has a few more miles to go? Thanks

Yeah, buy a Borla Sport muffler and have it welded in. They're not expensive and the sound is throaty but not loud.

Mine rotted out like that too.
I just got another used catback and bolted that in.

Muffler tip is only part of entire system that's not stainless. Muffler is actually very good stainless unit. I've just cut off tip and welded in stainless tip and it's lasted 15+ yrs.
