Extremely odd request

Hello,

This is my first time posting and probably one of my only times doing so. Right now me and a few of m buddies are drawing up the plans to transplant a 951 turbo engine into a 2001 gti. It has only been done once before (documented) on a 2nd gen gti, and plan to be the first to ever do it on a 4th gen gti.

Heres my request. I have a detailed sketch of the engine bay compartment, but I need one of a 944 (any model, and year).

I am not asking you to draw this, lol, simply type the numbers.

Height
Width
Top Right to Bottom Left
Strut Area
(if) there is a spacing from where the engine bay stops and firewall begins. a gap.

No need to draw like I did, just need the numbers and I can do the drawings.

Thanks!

Heres the picture I drew for the gti:

Before someone begins to put me in the burner. We have written up all the plans for the transplant. Yes we realize we are putting a rwd motor in a fwd car. Yes we realize the task were doing, but we have the support to two local shops for fabricating parts and a few guys with some ideas and willpower.

I just need this from you guys so we can go on ahead with the planning.

Well, I suppose these cars were orginially born out of a VW/Audi parts bin...

I don't know the measurements, but I'll salute you on the project, you're improving a golf =)

I have a similar idea planned, but in reverse.
I'm transplanting a 2.5L V6 TDI engine into my 944 sometime next year =)
It's an Audi engine though, but still, it's the same company in the end.

Here's some things that I don't know if you considered.
The exhaust manifolds, and turbo location.
Porsche made a mistake in space management when they designed this system, you will definately have to come up with something more space efficent in the way of exhaust headers, turbo mounting and down-pipe, in order to fit it under the hood with a transmission.

The engine slope, you may find yourself making a custom oil pan, and changing the slope of the engine when you install it.

Most FWD's engine mounts attach to the front and back of the engine, not to the sides, you may run into issues there.

If you've already thought of those issues, sorry, but if you haven't, it's some food for though.

Best of luck on the project!

Compared to what actually is going to have to be done to the rear, the front is pretty minimal.

Not only is an entire custom exhaust going to have to be built onto the car itself, but the rear is going to have to be gutted to fit the tranny and a custom fuel tank built. This is probably going to eliminate the rear seats and a new floor will have to be constructed and welded on.

Securing the engine upfront wont be the easiest task, but in comparison... it's not that bad.
