Manual boost controller problem.
I have a manual boost controller, and afte I fixed a very large boost leak, I had to re-adjust it. And I turned it all the way up, and it still kept wanting to boost to the moon. So as I was going to take it out, to run the line back to stock, I found the line to the wastegate had been melted shut. So I replaced it, and the line I replaced it with is much smaller in diameter, but now it's not boosting past 5psi even all the way down. Not sure if it matters, but the screw fell put while driving once, and I found it in the engine bay, and put it back in the controller. Could something have gotten messed up?

Maybe the ball or spring also fell out of it, rendering it non-operational.

I hear the ball. Could there also be a spring?

Yes, turning the adjustment in or out changes the tension on the spring, which pushes against the ball.

This happend to my friend when we put a boost tap on his skyline. one of his mates though he could put more power though it, accedently unscrewed the whole tap and lost the spring and left the ball inside. therefore the boost wouldn't regulate, so i found a spring that would work with it, put it in and adjusted the boost.

Unless it's an LR product or something, for which a new one could be ordered, that's likely what tayloray will need to do.

Then I need to find a spring. Anything specific with it?

Make sure the OD of the spring fits inside, but isn't too sloppy. And use one that the wire is of a gauge close enough to the original, that will provide a similar adjustment range.

i think it would be easier (and more accurate) to just buy another mbc.
