				Do I really need it?

Hi Guys! I am a new Porsche owner. Bought a 75 911S in Sept and am restoring it. My question is this: Do I actually have to put oil in the strut housing after changing my shocks? Whats that for? What kind of oil do you guys use? Also: I am thinking of putting thread locker blue on the ball joint nut. If I do this, will I still need that big flower looking peice that ensures the nut doesn't come off? Thanks!

This is kind of the wrong forum for this question. But since you are new... Yes, you need the oil - it cools the strut. Blue loctite is fine, but yes, you still need the locking washers and cotter pins. Welcome to the BBS AFJuvat
