CDR 210 radio not working - help!

Had to jump my 97 993 and radio stopped working. When it is put on, the word CODE is displayed (it does NOT flash), but then the radio clicks off a few seconds later. Not enough time to even enter a code, and as mentioned, the word CODE does not flash as it is suppose to during the resetting mode. I called SW Stereo who advertises in PANORAMA and he felt that jump starting the car probably fritzed the radio. He sent me a refurbished unit, installed it today, and the exact same symptoms continue. I can hear the amplifier under the right seat clicking on and off - and again - the radio stays powered for no more than a few seconds before shutting itself off again. The good news is that the problem does not appear then to be the radio - could the amplifier be causing this problem?? The #38 radio fuse is fine. Thanks!

The amp is most likely toast.

Sorry

CDR 210 problem fixed

FYI to all of those who viewed this posting. The problem turned out to be the trunk CD changer - as a last resort, I unplugged it and the radio stayed on, code entered, and problem fixed. CD changer was somehow damaged during the jump start and corrupted the radio until it was disconnected.
