Litronic troubleshooting

Litronic headlight on my '99 996 is Kaput. This was a retrofit with used factory lights (Ebay) without the litronic wiring harness. Tried replacement of bulb-no go. Is the control unit the likely culprit? Is it replaceable? Other possibilities?

You probably popped the control module.
993.631.193.02 is the replacement part for the control module.

double check your fuses before shelling out the cash for the box.

Thanks. You were very helpful with my earlier post on this topic. I found two units on ebay for under $800 with shipping. Of course, this is the risk we take on Ebay. Brandywine Porsche had the complete kit for $1099 a few months ago but by the time I got around to contacting them they were up to $1499.
That may have been the better way to go.

Also, the other lights work (Fog, turn, hi beam) so it's not the fuse. Could it still be the control unit?
