The fittings that feed the hyd tensioners are callled bridges, they often are the source of leaks in the upper chain case area

2x bridge 964 107 088 03
2x o-ring 999 701 909 40
2x sealing ring 999 701 889 40

Bill,
Should I be replacing the actual "bridge" piece? I've got my engine torn down, and figured I'd replace the gaskets, and o-rings, but not the actual "bridge". Do they actually wear out?
Thanks,
-Eric

How much of this can be done with the engine in the car?

Thanks

Not a whole lot can be done with the engine in the car.

The engine tin needs to be removed to remove the chain cover.

If you need to replace the seal between the chain housing and the engine block, you need to take out the cam sprocket and have to re-time the engine.

Bill,

It looks as if the bridges can be replaced without disturbing the cam timing. Am I correct ?

Thanks,

Earl

Thanks Bill!

Any other suggestions for changes that can be done without droping the engine ?

I first want to clean the area real good and find out exactly were the leaks are.

Earl
