The PSS9 were set full stiff rear and full front, but the front had a rebound skitter (is that a word?) indicating maybe too much front stiffness. Do they adjust rebound and compression at the same time?

Yes, they do both at once. I found full stiff up front to be a problem. Setting the front to 3 and the rears to 1 (full firm) worked much better for me. Hitting a berm (even a reasonable one) with the front at full firm was not pleasant but just fine when at 3.

Hello guys,

I have a slightly irrelevent question to ask, but it occured to me while reading this thread.

Doesn't the 964 C2 need a Bump Steer Kit when is lowered as is needed on the pre 89 911s ?

The rods make an angle when the car is lowered

I'd say it's not required (but would not hurt if you want to spend the money).

My car is pretty darn low (one of these days I'll get good measurements) but the distance from the ground to the jack points is about 3" (a low profile jack will not fit). I need 11' ramps to get the car into the trailer without scrapping the front spoiler.

We were worried that bump steer would be a big issue but the shop worked on the suspension to do the best possible with what I had. So far (3 race weekends and some DE) and it has not been too bad. The car dances a bit on heavy braking but it's controlable. The decision to go to EVO suspension parts will be based on how well the stock stuff survives with really wide slicks and all the extra strain that causes. The cornering g's are significantly higher with 10.5 & 13" slicks when compared to 205/255 DOT-R tires.

To amplify on what Tom said, bump steer correction on a 993 would entail replacement of the steering uprights, tie rods and wheel bearings w/ GT2/RS parts.

AFAIK those parts are not available for 964

Bumping an old thread as it seems to be the relevant & is often referenced.

Bill, if you don't mind - what's your source for the RS spring rates? I can't find any detailed mention in any of the books I have. Did you measure these yourself?

Thanks-
