Header question

I posted a question on the 911 forum, and was answered..

so , a new question.

Why did porsche go with Shorty headers on the 993, vs their long history of Longer headers of , well all other Oil cooled 911s??

If you mean the shorty oem cast ones, weight and cost balanced against performance, A muffled system does not act the same as an unmuffled system.

If you mean the shortys used on the RSR sprint motors, they wanted peak hp at relatively high rpm, for relatively short periods of time, they had the cams and heads to go w/ them.
