rusty rotors on stored 964

My 964 C4 has been off the road for a month. I have it in my garage hooked up to a Porsche trickle charger. I noticed today that the rotors have a coat of rust on them. The weather is erratic here in NH with very cold dry days and warmer damp days. Are my rotors getting ruined? Is there anything that I can put on the rotors to prevent this? Should I drive the car back and forth in my driveway using the breaks to clean the rotors or should I just forget about it?

Thanks for the input
Constantine

The rust is often caused by putting the car away with cold, wet brakes. For example, after I wash my car in the driveway, I take it for a spirited run to get the brakes hot. Driving home in the rain usually does not cause rust, since the hot rotors will dry quickly once in the garage.

Not sure if this is true or not, but I have heard that the rust on the inside of the brake rotors is far more damaging than what you can see on the outside.

Thanks for the advice. If it ever stops snowing around here I will get the car out for a ride.

They're cast iron rotors they're going to get urface rust. Walk a new car lot and see how many brand new cars which have been sitting after a rain get surface rust, its no big deal.
