Noise when taking a left bend
I own a 1991 Porsche 964 C4 Cabrio and have the following problem.... when I take a turn to the left (also at low speed) I hear a noise which appears to come from the engine compartment, its like a buzzing or groaning noise. When the car (engine) is cold the noise is much louder than when its warm... when the car has been used for a while the noise only appears at high speed corners.
Anybody has an idea where to look? Thanks, Marco. |

Power steering? Although that should groan on right turns, too...

Check the Wheel bearings. It has nothing to do with the car running hot or cold, but it sure sounds like a bearing is out on that side. Easy check.

Had the same thing after a shop had my engine out. They were a few cups low on ps fluid and that fixed it.

Mine used to make a noise only when I'd make left turns. It sounded like the rear tire was rubbing the inside of the wheel well. I topped off the power steering fluid and haven't heard the noise since.
