If you are trying to open your rear deck, try removing the left rear light assembly. On my 91 C2 the factory had added provision for a second release there in case the first broke.

The left rear light assembly removal to gain access is in the manual for my RSA.

More wiggling, paintsticks
More wiggling (forceful - treated it like a pick up truck), paint sticks and firmer prise with covered very wide flat bar - no damage. Two coat hangess were the final "shift".
