			If the sole basis for your bias is that it's hard to convert to RWD, I believe I already conceded that point, having labeled that option a "fool's errand." What else you got- the one or two guys whose transmissions failed in an expensive way? Definitely a drag, but if these things were popping all over the place we'd have heard about it here.

The C4 has an early-version stability control called PDAS that will progressively stiffen and lock the center and rear differentials if wheelspin or yaw is sensed, so there was no LSD option available. Find one you like, spend the money on a qualified inspection, then evaluate the price-point against the greater market.

			I spoke with TRE on using a 964 for the conversion and they quoted around $100k. Supposed to be a lot of plumbing that has to be moved around and reconfigured since longhood front and rear bumpers expose a lot. They have me looking for a 3.2 now but would much rather use a 964 base. Thoughts?

			Where are you located?  G50 model 3.2 Carreras are very drivable cars and easy to use on a regular basis.  But if you're anywhere that gets extreme weather, you might like the ABS and better A/C available on the 964.  That's not to say that the A/C on a 3.2 Carrera couldn't be made much better, but you'll never get ABS on it. A G50 Carrera backdate is on my "next" list...FWIW. Of course, that won't be for a while, sadly.

There are aftermarket A/C systems that improve early 911 A/C.  They're not cheap, but in the grand balance, if a 3.2 Carrera is a cheaper backdate than a 964, it may balance out.  Anyway, I think Paul K used a good one here: I'm back! With an '83 Coupe... Quote:
