Engine install question
About to reinstall my engine 964 after replacing all seals and head studs. I also rebuilt the cv with new boots. Would one recommend installing engine then cv axles or cv axles first??? I believe I removed cv axles prior to dropping engine but cannot remember. What's easier?

I installed new axles with engine in the car without a clearance issue on my 993. But installing the engine with axles in did add a bit of a clearance issue. If they were out with the engine. I would opt to install them after engine was in place.

Agree; it's easy to r&r them with the engine in the car. I wouldn't even try the other way.

Either way should be fine. I have never removed the axles when I have removed the engine. Just secured them out of the way.

You can do it with the axles attached. Just go slow, and make sure everything clears.

Yes, you can do it either way. But since they are out now, the wise choice would be to install the motor first.
