C4 - Can I lift
With a C4, will it spin out of control and hit the wall if I lift?
I accidentally posted this on the 964 board too. My bad.

It depends on how close the wall is. Many cars will spin in a high speed sweeper if you lift off the throttle. It's not just a rear-engine phenomenon.
An AWD 911 won't behave significantly differently than a RWD 911 when you've lost traction and are off of the throttle.

Thanks Jack. That's what I was wondering.

try it in a parking lot at speed. From what I have seen 996s and 997s plow all the time. But watch out for snap oversteer!

Depends how close to the limit you are. The C4 is not like a C2 or early 911 with the easy oversteer and the computer in the C4 tries to keep things under control and does not allow the rear end to step out siginificantly as long as you have not totally exceeded the limits of grip available to you. If you are on the limit then lifiting will be the action that sends you over the limit and the rear end will slide out.
