PCA tech station-how do I find one?
How do I find a PCA authorized tech station? I need to have my car teched before a DE? I could not find anything on the PCA site.

You need to get to the regional level for the club running the event.
There will be a registrar or a track chair that can recommend a shop. There may even be a tech person in the club that will tech the car at their home, depends quite a bit on the region.

Contact the organizer and find out what they want you to do before you arrive at the track. For our club, all Tech is done the day of the event at the track.

I can't speak for all regions but ours has a links section on their website that has a list of recommended shops for service. Just had mine done for this weekend. Less than $100.
Donnie, the shop does not need to be authorized to do the tech. It just helps if they are familiar with it and have done it before. Go to your regions website and find the links to shops for service. Then just call one and ask them about it. No big deal. Take your tech sheet with you as they will fill it out.

Got it, I think. I found a "technical chairperson" in my chapter's newsletter. I will call him today. I was unsure as to the "authorized" part, and it was not made clear in any of the written materials.
Jerry-good quote!

There are indeed PCA regions that specify only certain shops can tech the car. Other regions do not, but you're on the right track to ask. Good luck.

My tech form has a line "PCA inspector's name" so I figured it could not be any old joe mechanic.

Donnie, I am doing the same DE you are and I have the same tech inspection sheet. The bottom where it asks for PCA inpectors name is under the heading of :
Final tech inspection done at track.
