89 vs 86 engine compartment
My 89 LS1 has a lot going on in the engine compartment. I want to try and make this guy a little neater...

Yan,
how are you? any progress? if not I may catch up to you soon. almost have the engine back in the 951. just a few more hoses, wires, etc to get connected. then FINALLY put my effort back into my 911 conversion.

great. once the engine is back in the 951 and it is on the road, preping my tub for primer/paint is my next priority.

Has anyone tested the cooling difference between an electric water pump and a mechanical one especially at higher rpm's? How about, is anyone running a mechanical water pump. I'm running an electric 50 gpm Meziere. I spoke to Ron at Ron Davis Radiator and we were talking about my 89 LS1 and was 100% that a mechanical pump such as Meziere's remote mechanical pump will cool better at higher rpms where the electric always maintains gpm or drops gpm and fails to cool as efficiently as a mechanical. Any engineers out there? Any thoughts?

OMG.... and if I read it correctly this started about 40 yrs ago? so my 6+yrs of work is nothing compared to what he has done.
I do not have his metal working skills nor time left (I am almost 70) to do anything close. got the engine in the 944 turbo, adding fluids, and today drain the old gas before proceeding with firing it up.

I have an 80 slant with a 383 that I would sell.
If you search this forum for: 1980 911 SC Slantnose 383 Stroker Conversion

Yan,
the 951 fired up yesterday!!!! have one minor issue to fix and it will hit the road. have sold the 928. and once the 951's engine is broken in and confident it is sorted, it will go up for sale. so now all my wrenching will focus on my 911 conversion. but the competition will become flying. buying an ultralight and in the process of scheduling training. ![]()

It’s still at the body shop getting prepped … progress has been happening. Hopefully paint within the month. Not factory fenders.

Dave it is still at the body shop for paint…. I think they are on the left rear quarter. COVID has slowed the shop down.

LS427 Crate Motor has arrived
It took months to get. GM stopped producing the LS7 crate motors and the country was out of them. I ordered one from Summit that had ordered 30 of them and 10 were not spoken for. I didn't think it would actually get built but it did. Ordered my Renegade Hybrids kit. Even though I don't have my car back from the body shop I will start to put this together...

Slow progress
Car is still at the body shop... It might be moving to a new body shop soon. Took the motor out of the crate and will start a slow assembly of the Renegade Hybrid stuff.
