Under 911 photo gallery, the first car. It's a burgundy targa. It has 180 degree headers. With electric dumps also.

Planning on doing the same. but without the dumps. That 180 degree header sound would be more in keeping with the car.

Moderators,

Shouldn't this be moved to the "Porsche Engine Conversion Tech Forum" forum?

No, it does not. This post certainly belongs in the "Porsche Engine Conversion Tech Forum" forum. Here is the description of that forum:

"This forum is for owners combining the best of two worlds - Chevy motors in the cars, or VW chassis with Porsche engines."

So, the only remaining question is whether or not it should be move there. A topic discussing a 944 Turbo S in this forum would be moved to the "Porsche 944 Turbo and Turbo S " forum so this topic should be moved to the appropriate forum as well.

Half dump into collectors on the same side they come from. That's probably the half you can track.

The other half swap to the other side and merge into that collector. That's the half that disappears. I have a pic somewhere on a Pantera that's easier to see.

If I can find it, I'll post it.

Here's what an LS1 sounds like with 180 degree headers.

The point is that there is a specific forum for threads on this subject and they should be moved to that forum. Or are you suggesting that we should be able to have discussions about 944's and Boxsters in this forum too?

There has been discussions in this forum on boxsters in this forum before. I have never seen a so called group of enthusiasts actually isolate each other soley based on their own superiority complex. Yes, their is a conversion forum, but this thread has been going for some time now, and now its getting a lot of heat suddenly. Let it ride out, so it can be put to rest...

I'd like to see those Pantera pics. Please do post them when you find them!

Some 25+ years ago when I did autobody work, one of the cstomers had a Pantera and a Mangusta. I got to work on both of these cars and I'll never forget the look, sound, and feel of sitting in the drivers seat, even if just for a short hop!

I've been looking at all sorts of engine swaps for my car. I like the ease of finding parts for the V-8's but afraid of any extra weight behind the rear wheels. Hearing the sound from the engine in that Corvette is making me rethink my project. Thanks for posting that link!

I've got an ole 350 4 bolt pink rod Vette motor out of a Corvette drag car that I'd thought about putting in my ole TVR , don't think I like thinking the thoughts I'm thinking........kinda like the Catholic school girl down the road that's your friends daughter..........

Must .......... Resist !!!! ........these THOUGHTS .......

I dont know if you use a thermostat in your cooling system but i have ysed one from an old BMW 2002 because it is a loose unit u can mount in the hose so you can control the flow better. Have a nice day
Sirhiss!

I want to hear this solution. It meets the kiss principle. Can y ou post a YouTube video of it running? I wanna hear...

I'm at the point where I need to think about the exhaust.

im afraid mine was all about being simple. i cant imagine having all that stuff hanging in the rear of the car and being in the way...regardless of how it might sound!

I am still intrigued by the 180 degree crossover-----especially after hearing the sound.

In the pic--the pipes seem to be as I have coloured, but does anyone know what, the yellow pipes are? There seems to be a bypass exhaust from each side [maybe valved?]--but I marked an odd one up the leftside? what a piece of engineering!1

Yes, electronically controlled dumps that allow the mufflers to be bypassed.

Here is a little video with some sound. It is from my very first test drive. This exhaust will only fit if u use the Camaro sump because i just changed to the Corvette/bat model and i have to remove one of the silencers.
