good to see you back at it. a word of caution...be sure to seal your radiator enclosure as well as possible. any leakage will try to find its way into the passenger compartment. as a matter of fact i fabricated a a removeable firewall between the radiator enclosure and the gas tank with a seal to the bottom of the hood and sealed to the body. you want all the air coming into the radiator to exit from the front compartment rather than migrating into the compartment and surrounding metal. any heat escaping into the area is nice in cold weather but not so in hot weather.

Any of you thinking about an LS conversion, I've got a parts deal. I've got a 5-speed 965 G50/52 and LSD with new Kennedy LS to G50/52 conversion plate, new Sachs clutch kit and new Kennedy LS to G50/52 conversion flywheel for sale. The Turbo transmission is supposed good for up to 700HP. I'm asking $8,000 for the package.
FS: 965 Turbo 5 speed:G50/52 w/ LSD, LS conversion plate, flywheel, SACHS clutch kit

Some progress today.
Here's a picture of the KEH adapter plate and flywheel. ![]() From the angle below you can see how the RH engine cradle ties into the adapter plate. You can also see the steam tube - this motor is an LS1 so it had a four-way steam tube. I had to replace it with an LS6 two-way steam tube and two block offs for the rear (front) steam tube ports. You can also see the oil pressure sending unit. This is a Porsche replacement part. It won't fit this way. I have to sort that out still. You can also see the four studs for the transaxle mount. ![]() From the front, you can see the RH coolant adapters. The big lump mounted on the side of the engine cradle is a Meziere electric water pump. ![]() Here's a closeup. ![]() And, another; ![]() On another front, I finally finished the color change on the first caliper. Tell me what you think. I have the process worked out so I can do the other 3 pretty quick. It's high-temp paint so it's not quite as bright as I'd like but it's still pretty good. And the frau didn't seem to have a problem with me baking them in the kitchen. How cool is that? ![]() Hal

Here we go. All the parts are here! Yahoo.
First is the front suspension. Here are the freshened and powdercoated a-arms mounted. I used delrin bushings, but I don't who from. Mike out at Rennsport sourced them. He told me at the time what they were but I can't remember now. He said he prefers them to Rebel, so I figured, what the heck: they're cheap enough that if I don't like them, I can change them out later. ![]() The powdercoat added just enough additional dimension to the inside edge of the hole in the a-arm that the ball joint won't fit. So I wrapped a 32mm socket with 220 grit sandpaper, taped it on and sanded it down to bare metal. ![]() Next thing was to install the front sway bar. I'm using Tarett's through-chassis setup. Here's what it looks like laid out neatly. ![]() It's pretty nice stuff. Since this is a 3.2 Carrera it had the cheesy "let's just install this swaybar anywhere" thing. So I have to cut the hole and reinforce it for the through body bar. Tarett supplies an inner flange. I used this for my layout. After I cut the four holes - three for the screws and one for the bar, I screwed the bolts into the face of the flange and hung it on the outside. ![]() I then made measurements to all three bolts from the top of the brake line hanger and measured the angle. ![]() Then transfer it to the other side, drill the holes and bolt everything up. Here's the finished product. ![]() This is the new front strut. Full blown Porsche Porn. ![]() And here it is installed. ![]() This stuff is not torqued up yet. I'm still in the trial fit mode. I won't torque anything until I've got all of it on. Hal

Nice progress Hal. Keep up the nice thread so we closet V8 lurkers can watch in innocent secret shadows as your ride comes together. Some already know that I've broken both of my pledges and have a water cooled targa in the barn now...shhhhh.

Nope. it's always looked like that. What are you talking about?
Seriously, I moved it over to a friends garage. He has a lift. It's actually my neighbor from my old shop. He grew his collection and cleaned up his shop some. It's an extremely high class kinda gig now. And there are no customers - it's strictly a collection. If you peak around the edges of my pics you can see a little bit of his collection. And Chris' Pantera is peaking back there somewhere also.

Love it! So, is it an iron block on a motor plate?

No my V8 isnt from board. I picked it in Midwest. Its a fully built (Callies/Oliver) built 302 iron block 914 with Renegade tall gear set. Its my quietest Porsche in the garage ironically. It's a "finished" car meaning that before me its been static for the last 7 years originally a CA car. Very clean but could use a few touches to get it up to snuff. Still on fence with the 901....as geared its highway burner, but little lazy around town.
The Targa is looking good. Nice rear shots as it looks quite mean. Hopefully getting power in my new shop soon. Waiting on transformer, but excited to truly use it finally as I'll finally get a lift.
