the start of my LS1 conversion:

about 1/2 way done with the body work.
I just received the RH basic kit, tonight I am going to go pick up my engine and drop it off at the engine builders.
Since it is getting a little cold to do body work I am going to shift gears and start putting in the radiator.
below are pics of where I am today. the car is down to ~1840 without the engine.
there is a lot more to do...

Very interesting! Will those rear quarter windows be some kind of cooling ducts?

CRAZY CHOP!!! I LOVE IT.

Are you going to use the turbo wing? I think a carrera wing would fit the sleek style more than the turbo. Just my two cent.

GREAT JOB

I like the customs. This could be special if all done correctly.

Is the other 1/2 of the body work to put a new proper canopy on it?

Looks like the poor thing has been scalped.

I hope I'm not offending you. It is not my taste, but certainly seems like you know what you want. I commend your efforts in making it yours.

thanks, no one offends me, my motto if you don't like it, don't look, not my problem.

Wow.. did you consider a 935 body? Would have really looked like a Le Mans refuge... awesome.

Still good luck with going your own way.

you've been busy James, nice progress! I can see why you haven't been able to ship the seats.

I wouldn't go with the side scoops, but I like it, looks mean. Hope you are going with black or a black purple.

Slightly different take on a famous custom Porsche? was the Mulholland RSR your inspiration for the porject or a coincidence? Could be a cool outcome. I'll keep my eyes open for your progress.

Just a coincidence. never saw that car before.
the top of the windshield looks off on that chop.
however it my personal opinion that the lowered roof line and racked windshield looks better.

OK, so the P-car just lost a little more weight.
140# from the 2000# makes that a 7% drop to 1860#

before

after

and some updated pics:

When someone says V8 around here, people typically react a little more harshly than if you'd peed on their shoes and slapped their wives.

Looks like a cool project.

With your skill at bodywork, I hope you didn't start with a pristine turbo.
