Test fit 2. I decided to go with a custom Bell intercooler for better air flow. Motor is a modified 3.3 930. Stock 3.3 bottom end, SC cams, ported 3.0 heads, xdi ignition, B&B headers, zork tube, 915 5 speed trans.

Test fit 3, things are getting tight. The i/c lines will clear, but need to make a new fuel line. The turbo should be back by weeks end, then will start on twin dump pipes.

Finally bolted in. Will spend the next few days hooking everything up, and finishing the exhaust.
The motor is bolted to a '84 915 trans rebuilt by Wevo. Stock 8:31 r&p, stock 1-4 with a early 5th gear. Also installed the Wevo bearing retainer plate and side cover.

Nice build, I also suggest you to install a WEVO side plate as well...

All buttoned up. Decided to drop the motor after this photo and a few miles of test drives. Not enough air going through the i/c in the bulkhead, switching to a 964 i/c mounted in the stock location. Will also be making (when I can find the parts) 9.5" x 17" 3 pc fuchs for the rear, with either 245's or 255's.

Final version and on the road. Added some fat rims, 3 pc Fuchs 8x16 w/225/50/16 fronts, 9x17 w/245/45/17 rears. Swapped out the Bell i/c in the firewall for a 964 i/c in the stock location.

3 scoops under the chassis w/3" dia. hoses bringing air into the engine bay. 2 hoses come up in front of 3-10" fans. The 3rd hose goes to the top of the i/c. 1 fan comes on with the ignition, the other 2 fans come on when the engine temp hits 180 through a thermostat switch. The louvered engine lid also helps.
