On Craigslist:
"This is the ultimate attention getting car. You can't be shy with this one. Everyone loves it. Title is 1976 Porsche Laser 917. 4 cyc 4 spd. Great gas mileage. runs and drives good. I am buying a house and need to sell. $8500 obo" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I may get shot down in flames, but that is £4k in our money, which is a bargain for a mad-looking thing that my kids would love. If I didn't need the cash to build my new garage, I would snap it up for a laugh and turbo it.

Actually John, I think you're pretty close on the '70's kids TV show, but I think it was the boat below from HR Puff N Stuff that was the design basis for this abortion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by bluesky; 04-22-2008 at 12:48 PM.. |

talking of tv shows, rather than a 917 that reminds me of the car from "hardcastle and mccormick"

I loved watching Hardcastle and McCormick when I was a kid. Strangely enough, the only thing I can remember about it is the car

LOL, Hardcastle and McCormick, this thread is brilliant. Where is that mad purple thing with the eyeliner pencil headlamps and the chrome roll bars, I am going to go search for it.

Banned but not out, yet..

The amount of blood, sweat and money that goes into these abominations against nature is mind-boggling. Just think that if they put their efforts into works of good rather than evil.

I dunno about that mate, but I am loving some of these mad-assed things, brings out the rebellious streak in me. I would love to hit some Porsche Club meets in that blue three-box 959 saloon on the first page! LOL

Here's the 'Coyote' from Hardcastle and Mccormick. Apparently a kit car to resemble the McLaren referenced earlier - built on a VW chassis with a 914 engine.
It's not as cool as I remember it: ![]() ![]() And here is version 2 - based on a Delorean because the actor had a hard time getting in and out of the original car. I think it has a well deserved place in this thread: ![]() |

the replica of the kit car is ace :-) i noticed something fun. the mclaren owner really wants the one-off "cosby 959" (obviously too rare to get hold of and had to settle for a mclaren m6) he's got a full size poster of it behind the mclaren. ![]() ![]() ![]()
