I suspect that the headlights are hacked out of the original. To me it looks like it might be from some sort of Pontiac or possibly an Olds. I'm almost wondering if the remains of the lights and grill are put in there upside down...

It is the oddest train wreck but I hoist my beer (or mason jar of shine) to someone who would put so much energy into confusing and pissing off so many observers.

I may get shot down in flames, but that is £4k in our money, which is a bargain for a mad-looking thing that my kids would love. If I didn't need the cash to build my new garage, I would snap it up for a laugh and turbo it.

I love that little silver 959 Beetle too. Imagine that with Scooby running gear at a track day: woo hoo!

Actually John, I think you're pretty close on the '70's kids TV show, but I think it was the boat below from HR Puff N Stuff that was the design basis for this abortion

I loved watching Hardcastle and McCormick when I was a kid. Strangely enough, the only thing I can remember about it is the car

The amount of blood, sweat and money that goes into these abominations against nature is mind-boggling. Just think that if they put their efforts into works of good rather than evil.

Here's the 'Coyote' from Hardcastle and Mccormick. Apparently a kit car to resemble the McLaren referenced earlier - built on a VW chassis with a 914 engine.

It's not as cool as I remember it:

And here is version 2 - based on a Delorean because the actor had a hard time getting in and out of the original car. I think it has a well deserved place in this thread:

thats the baby, i remember it leaping over cop cars and stuff in the opening sequence i think, i googled hardcastle and mccormick and got the wrong car.
the replica of the kit car is ace :-)
i noticed something fun. the mclaren owner really wants the one-off "cosby 959" (obviously too rare to get hold of and had to settle for a mclaren m6) he's got a full size poster of it behind the mclaren.
