Of the thousand different ways to make a 914 look better...

That's not one of them.

Some questionable works, no doubt, but really, if you think about all the man-hours and craftsmanship that went into them, some of these are downright amazing, no matter what car is underneath.

What a great thread...the stories about the white Covin kit car and the Krylon red "Bill Cosby" edition 959 replica are absolute rib-busting threads.

Let us not forget those true nuts at Rinspeed (these are pics from their website):

"None whiter...you can't get any whiter than that!" (take on Spinal Tap black album)

Can't decide between a 911, 944, 928, or a TestaRossa? Rinspeed has your answer.

I have a sick fascination with wretch-worthy replicas and weird body kits. It's like a train wreck...just can't look away.
I've got a personal collection of bad photos. Lots of great additions to my collection on here.

Almost forgot about the Gemballa Avalanche, and yes, Vanilla Ice actually owned one back in the day. The rear end actually looks weirder, if you can imagine.

I knew we'd see the C-GT V-10 appear in another model...

But then... there are cobbled together pieces of schit and then there are truly Godawful cobbled together pieces of schit. This one (for me) may truly take the cake.

Much as this makes me shake my head and wonder why? It doesn't bother me as much as an otherwise good car that someone performs, "The-Island-of-Dr-Morreau" type surgery on it and makes it into a monstrosity. Those cars truly strike me as wrong and a waste.
