Whats it worth? 1974 Carrera. Please help
Hi all, This 1974 Carrera is an almost completed work in progress and will be completed in the next few days. This Porsche will be put up for sale soon on this website. My dilemma is the value of this car and what I should price it at in order to offer a fair and equitable value to a buyer while maintaining a figure that is commensurate to or somewhat below market. This is a Euro model equipped with a U.S. 2.7 engine, #6341013, and has 88,000 actual miles. Has the whale tail spoiler, Fuch wheels, 7200 rpm tach, aluminum trailing arms, front & rear sway bars, fog lights and power windows. I am not the owner but am helping him to sell this car. He bought the car in 1983 as a driver and did no work on the car at that time except upgrade the head stud bolts. In 1987 he sold the car to a local doctor who owned the car for 21 years who drove it very sparingly by putting only 1800 miles on it during the 21 years he owned it. The owner bought the car back from the doctor in 2008 and has completely redone the car cosmetically. The car's body panels were disassembled (hood, doors, fenders, deck lid, etc) and repainted separately and reassembled. All new weatherstrips were added and wiring upgraded and detailed. The black interior is original and in exceptionally nice condition. Overall very nice condition cosmetically and mechanically. Definetly a high quality Sunday driver and an easy high point car with little attention to detail. I am looking for a low value opinion as well as a high value opinion on this car and when it is listed "for sale" the asking price will be between the high and low estimates. I thank all who take their time to respond to my request and help me in this situation. God bless America! Sincerely, James-weco1971

So.. its a Euro '74 with a US motor?
Also, in the pick, the rear spoiler is ductail and not a whale tail Also, in the pick, the rear bumper guards are wrong for a '74 Also, wheels could also be wrong.. they look like 16"s, but a '74 would have 15's Do we know what happened to the correct '74 MFI motor? A 2.7CIS motor is not even close in performance.. 210hp vs 170hp. Sunroof? Sport seats? Any rust? So, why the repaint? Because so much seems missing if its a true euro car (I imagine a correct Euro motor would add $20K to the price, maybe much more).. $14-20K? your listing is hard to read.. many out here want a clean, clear listing of specs.. How's the suspension? stock? orginial? recently updated? brakes? engine health? Rust on the front pan? Hows the headliner? rear seats? carpets? etc etc.

I don't think the 74 had headlight washers either. If they did, that is the wrong style on the car.
