Turbo spoiler value

I have a good used OEM whale tale spoiler complete with rubber.
How much should I ask for it?

There are a bunch of spoilers colloquially referred to as "whale tail." A proper whale tail carries no rubber.

Put up a picture so we can see what kind of spoiler you have.

What he said. A turbo tail is usually a tea tray, but not always.

Whale tail on turbos where 75 to 77.

The tea tray was introduced to house the intercooler from 78 till 89.

Both had rubber lips.

A 75 - 77 NOS lip recently sold in Europe for thousands.

I've sold a Carrera tail complete with engine lid in nice shape for $800. Since that was several years ago, it might be more, now. Obviously, it's worth the most to someone with a matching color car.

Carrera Tail

Hi

I bought a Carrera tail c/w deck lid for $1200 CDN cash just before Christmas ?? Then I had to paint it. ( I'm a Canuck)

I think I probably paid the high end of the scale. I agree an enthusiast will pay what he deems it is worth. In my case I wanted to have the period correct tail on my 87 Targa so I was all good with the price

All The Best with your sale and in 2015

John

I would say 5-600 two years ago when people were on semi crazy. Today who knows. I think the gap between asking and selling has opened up.
