I've done the dynamat>closed cell>mlv thing to a car (Honda Element). It indeed works well. Be aware of some fitment issues with the interior parts going back together once you've added those layers....

A quick tip on rusted/frozen nuts and bolts. Forget the penetrating fluid. Go to the grocery store and get some Gulf Wax - the stuff they use for canning....
