RSR Clone Birthday

The RSR Clone celebrated it's first birthday this week.

It's been a great first year with track events at Watkins Glen and Lime Rock. Concours trophies at the PCA Zone 1 and The Birdgehampton Classic.

I even managed to spin the car going into the Uphill at Lime Rock. While going backwards uphill at about 80 mph, the windshield popped out. No real damage. Lucky me!!

Check the next edition of Excellence for better pics.

Happy Birthday and congrats to what sounds like a great year. Great photos and setting BTW. Will make a great Halloween poster. We'll be watching for you in Excellence. Boy this Board sure has offered up some samples of REALLY superior long hoods -- congrats on that too. You guys need to get all of them together in one place at one time. What a great photo op that would make!

That makes me want to re-up my 'scrip with Excellence. Great pics.

What can you do to keep the windshield in w/o messing up the car? Is there a hold down clip that can go in with the glass and seal that would attach blindly after the fact? It not, there should be. Let's work on that.

Hey Milt

While describing my incident to a friend here in CT, I learned that the windshield popping out was a problem when the RSR was first introduced. This led to the development of the so called "IMSA Clips" for retaining the windshield.

Alternatively, my friend drilled (4) sets of small holes in the windshield frame on the body and safety wired the windshield, seal and trim piece in place.

Tom, What event was that? I used to own a 71 RS clone, miss it. I also used to own the metallic green 944 turbo in the lower right corner. Sold about 9 years ago, glad to see it still on the track.
