Mine has multiple stops held in place with a bar on each side that locks into big teeth welded to the bottom plates. Once locked it can only be released with compressed air plugged into the hydraulic pump console. As a safety procedure, the the compressed air button is pressed all while actuating the up button to release the bars locked in the teeth. Pretty secure I would say.
