A/C hoses use a special rubber that is safe for refrigerants and the pressures they are under. I don't know for sure if normal hydraulic hose is okay or not. I tried having one of mine rebuilt by a local hydraulic shop and after them re-doing the crimp 3 times and it still leaking I just bought a new hose. I had spent more on refrigerant and hose bits than the new hose cost

If there is a shop near you that rebuilds A/C hoses then that is your best bet.
