LOL, threads like these really drive home how much I don't belong in a Porsche... I'm a few hundred grand a year shy. lol.

wow that is sweet.. where did you shift the oil tank to?

This is how I originally set it up. But when they started putting Ethanol in gas it destroyed the bladder in the fuel cell.

This is how it is now after I end up fabing a simple tank. I will eventually build a more detailed tank to fit the original location.

Ollies930 10-09-2018 02:34 PM

Did you do anything inside the tank to prevent fuel sloshing away from the fuel pump pick up on hard decceleration or turning?

GJF 10-09-2018 02:43 PM

Yes, I put baffles with a sump below centered. I didn’t know how long it would stay in the car, but atleast I built it right.

Ollies930 10-10-2018 09:47 PM

I don't suppose that you have pictures of that?

Rodsrsr - Interested how you plumbed your Turbowerx scavange pump -- where did you hang the pump? Did you go back into the engine sump plate? Any pix?

IROC 912 -- Is that fan on your intercooler a puller or a pusher? Is it constantly on, or is there a thermo-switch or somehow tied to some other engine control?
THX.

Sorry Ollie, I didn’t take any pics during fabrication as I did it as a temporary fix that has been in there for several years. Eventually
I´ll get to fabricating a new tank that will resemble (in shape atleast) a factory tank with added capacity.

Man, I'd love to feel the pull of your car, GJF! Bet your cheeks feel like they getting pulled back even! ;)

The fan is a SPAL pusher, Infinity ECU turns it on when intake temps reach 26 deg C and shuts off when intake temp gets to 23 deg C. It only comes on during a hard run through the gears, then shuts off after a few minutes. I've never had the intake temp get much above 28 deg C this summer.

Thanks, good info. So, you can adjust the on-off thermostat switch too?

I'm not using an on-off thermostat, but the switch points are configurable within the ECU tables.

You bastards have done a very good job of planting a boost bug in my brain.

Sadly the question becomes do I boost and wide body the SC, or build a fun lil Cobra replica... oddly enough they would cost the same.

Its just mounted near the overflow tank and the oil returns on top of the engine. (no sump plate 3.2) I once had it mounted in the engine bay but when I moved it close to the overflow tank it worked much better.

1980 911 SC Euro 8:6:1
Rebuilt with :
993 Cams
993 Headstuds
RS Cut Valves
Port And Polished Heads

EFI Upgrade :
3.2 Carrera Intake
Siemens Deka 80lbs Injectors
Omex 710 Series ECU (Fuel & Spark Control)
Going Super Fast Crank Wheel Kit

Turbo Hardware :
K27-7200 Turbo
Custom Almost Full Bay Intercooler
TurboWerks Oil Scaveneger
OBX Headers (Modified To Remove Wastegate Restriction)
Tial 46mm Wastegate

Made 320 crank HP and 280ft lbs :( but since found the guy that did the EFI is an idiot and very poor workmanship, so going somewhere else for a retune.
Also found whilst doing a 915 rebuild last week the head studs are not torqued correctly which is why one side was leaking oil. Now fixed and hopefully a bit more compression :p
Will be getting a GT30R or getting the K27-7200 upgraded to a hybrid soon.

Sounds like you should just do the Cobra replica and be done with it. Should only cost around $40k give or take. Depending on how high or low end you go.
