It has what look like B&B headers on it now, I'll find out what it came with, it did have a dual exit 930S type muffler, then I think a monty, now a rarely L8 which has bought boost on about 1000rpm earlier. He has all the original communication transcripts between Porsche Australia and Porsche Germany specing the car out. Also has a factory LSD and taller gearing not sure of the spec. He rebulit the engine a few years ago, flame ringed heads, knife edged crank, not sure exactly what was done but the sound is amazing, pretty much has the same exhaust system as my car but is about twice as loud, probably due to the low compression and cams. It goes very well, the coolest 930 I've seen.

more info
from the owner:
So the car went to Werk 1 and started life as a Special Wishes order, with the most "common" mods of 330HP engine which needed the different front valance with front mounted oil cooler,Adjustable wastegate,Boxed Rockers and Rear Guard vents. It also got an 8/37 Ring and Pinion for quicker acceleration,an LSD,Bigger Torsion bars and stiffer shocks. It had full leather trim from new,but they cut the belt holes into the seats at the factory,a really rough job, too! When the car was finished it was picked up from the factory by Kremer and taken back to their race shop where they fitted the intercooler and the kevlar spoiler. They may have put an exhaust on it as well, but i'm not positive about that. It then went back to the factory where it was delivered to Bartels as a Tourist Delivery.

Just a little clip at idle with newly installed group-b camshafts. (Poor mobile sound)
Really like the character of the cams, pulls strong from 3-6000. ![]() 930 Group-B Cams at idle - YouTube |

Bump, I find these cars very interesting as they are the closest cousin of the road-going 930s. Shows how just a few mods made these cars contender's back in the day. The 930 has to be the closest thing to a road-going racecar Porsche ever built.

Lots of great info on the Group B 930, love these siblings to my Group B SC RS. Interesting to read that the rim dimensions were 9,5 and 11x16. Any info on what ET or barrel halves dimensions they used?
For tarmac I have Ronal rims as those on the Müllerbrau car, but currently running 9 and 11" Last edited by bonjoh; 09-27-2021 at 09:57 AM.. |
