Screw that! Find an afternoon soon, just one afternoon, and let that 930 burn those fossil fuels the way it was meant to do.

Other than that, JFairman's advice was spot-on.

If there is, drain or pump it out and put it in a car that does get driven. You can disconnect the fuel supply line to the fuel head and connect a long line to that and fill gas cans or pump it right into another cars tank using the fuel pump in the car to pump it.
Here is why E10 is bad to leave in there especially in humid weather... Phase Separation in Gasoline

This is good info too... Is your gas additive safe with E10 fuel?

Then fill it up with real gasoline that has no alcohol in it and add some quality gasoline stabilizer from the list above to help preserve it. Now it will be ok to just drive it occasionally until you have more time to really enjoy it
Interesting reading, here's my summary: So with the data they provided regarding phase separation, all it would take would be about 7 ounces of water added to a 20 gallon tank of fresh E-10 to propogate phase separation, thus sinking water and ethanol to the bottom of the tank (and since ethanol is hygroscopic, that 7 ounces of water can slowly be absorbed from the atmosphere over time just sitting there - especially bad when storing the car with less than a full tank of gas in it). It can be damaging to rubber and plastic seals if the fuel line intake is low enough to suck up that water/ethanol, plus the rest of the fuel above the phase separation will now have about 3 octane points lower than originally formulated....not good, since our cars need/want the higher octanes to guard against detonation.

Has anyone noticed any seal or hose deterioration when using E-10, or unusual amounts of crap plugging the fuel filter?

We have one gas station in town that advertises zero/zilch/nada ethanol....just the pure 100% gas stuff. I think I'll switch.

I have a solution...ship me the car. I'll maintain it for you and see that it gets a good spanking at the track regularly. I will send you videos of the track sessions so you can enjoy seeing the car being used properly

joking of course...you gotta keep it. Sign up for a trackday a couple times a year man, you'll be glad you did.

nkowi and jwasbury are right!
burn off the gas in it before it goes bad... buy or borrow a helmet and do a track day... you and the car will love it!

there is a reason you found that particular car, or it found you.
these cars have a soul.. you can't give it away now.

now go out and drive it. burn off the gas in it... .9bar or more,, no excuses

Google salvage title. Salvage titles are bad because they imply the vehicle was trashed beyond the replacement value. Was yours in that condition? Is it welded up from a couple cars, for instance? Can you register it in your state? If it got the salvage title just because it was a theft recovery beyond 21 days, that is a different matter.

Keep the car. And just drive it on occasion.
I have got three kids 2-5 and its kind of a struggle to restore one car and trying to make the other one run right. Not only the kids, but the wifey too
I believe this phase will be over, too soon. You will be able to sped some quality time with the kids, and they will love it.
Keep it, enjoy looking at it. And sort out those small things even if it just wiping off the rear view mirror.

You have built and awesome machine, don't part with it.

Hey bud...I was once you. Only I never comtemplated selling. Had a great time with wife.com and the car pre kids. Then had kids. Car sat in my garage for 6 years (venturing out only for smogs) eventually leaking oil until there was a pool of oil so large you'd a thought BP had been there.

Since I now also had a second kid I had very little $$$ to send it to the shop for the likely large mechanic bill to fix all the problemas. So, I found my way to Pelican, posted a bunch of pics under the title Computer Nerd Attempts to Fix Oil Leaks and decided to fix it myself with zero mechanical skills. Everyone came to my rescue and helped me with the repair via the web.

A year later (hehe, I'm not a very good mechanic) I got her running and although a list of 'quirks' remain I am able to take her out and drive her again and she runs great. The kids are now 8 and 12 and both love trips to school, ballet, etc. Hopefully I'll never have to sell her and one of the kids will get her. By then she might be worth some real $$$. It might take another 10+ years but I really think these cars are going to be worth some big bucks one day.

Good luck in your decision. Fun watching everyone talk you down from 'the ledge'.

It was a theft recovery, but not sure how long it was missing before recovered.
Interesting

I've seen the 930 and ridden in it. It is the real deal. While the motor was out for the upgrades, the (ultra clean) tub was on Kelly's lift. Every factory spot weld is in tact - definitely wasn't salvaged due to a crash. The only frankenstein'd component is the monster turbo, custom intercooler and EFI setup that makes for jaw-dropping acceleration. I've never got to 120 mph so fast! A real rocket ship. I could see how it'd be seriously addictive.

I can empathize with the desire to sell it. Still, it's a personal decision and you are the only one who can decide. I remember discussing the sale of your GT-1 project and also your last 930 (the one that shouldn't have gotten away).

Selfishly, I hope you keep it so I can ride in it again!!

I don't miss mine (much) since I hardly used it and would have sold it again had I come to the same crossroads.

See you soon,

Doug

If you're willing to here, please elaborate on "near perfect chassis", "most of it is in really good shape" and what happened to the car as a result of it having been stolen...if not here, I'd think you'll need to explain qualified statements to prospective buyers at some point.

Having said that, the car really sounds nice.

thumbs up! Glad to see you driving the 930 today - maybe this thread prompted it. Perfect day and spot for it (highway 101 in San Diego county)
