The original poster ( icemann427 ) had the starting figure from his resource book by Adrian Streather as 284 being produced in 75. So 284 - 10 = 274, the figure from the publication I posted, which also gives production figures of the 934 & 935s . Peter Morgan's ( Original Porsche 911 ) updated book also give the 284 number but does not subtract the first 10 serial numbers that are for internal use, as in your post. It seems there are different production numbers published. My post was not to establish it as absolute, just to add a further breakdown as to where they were originally built to be sold and the additional production figures for the 930 based race cars, the RSR 934 group 4 & RSR 935 Group 5 cars.

good to know!
Would it ever be possible to know how much 930's are made from each color code?
Like my car has blue 304 but they repaint it ... one day I'll bring it back to it's original color... I think not to many of them with that color?

Is there any info out there on how many cars are actually on the road after artrition? (i think thats a word?)

I suspect especially with older ones there might be not many left at all, don't forget there was an extremely high accident rate with them before they stopped export to USA in the eighties. hence their nickname.

My guess is possibly under 80-100 cars worldwide of each of the seventies models?
Thoughts on this?

You're absolutely right about attrition of cars due to crashes, neglect, or chassis being converted to race cars or whatever. 80-100 is probably right for '75 since it was so low production, but worldwide production was ~1150 in '76 and ~1400 for '77. So I'm sure there are many hundreds of each of these years still on the road.

With the 50th anniversary of the 911 last year, I remember lots of Porsche press statements that "over 70%" of all Porsche vehicles ever manufactured are still on the road. Obviously newer generations will have a higher percentage and older ones are probably lower, but I think 70% is probably a reasonable guess for mid-late 70s 930 models.

Also the number on the road probably stopped declining a few years ago, and now that 3.0L "Ur" turbos are starting to become more desirable people will haul them out of barns and wherever and start restoring more of them. So the number on the road is probably increasing very slightly at present.

On that chart showing the remaining or known 76's my car is 16 above the 12 934 935's and 6 below Steve McQueen. That's pretty cool. And the one right next to mine is the same ext color.

if the work has been carried out as well as it appears to...I would think 75k would be achieved easily. the car remains largely stock appearing which is important to many.

just a high wow factor machine!!!

With all that work...if done correctly...I wouldn't accept anything lower than $75k...even at that price, someone is getting a bargain.

Btw post pics of the engine when you get a chance..

Engine pics will most likely drive that number higher for the right buyer. It's a beaut.

OT a bit, but where is the line for taking a 930 too far beyond stock or appearing stock that people become jaded??

I'm with others in the $75k+ range. Probably can use Linc's recent sale as a barometer in a similar regard?

miles on chassis / engine build would help

GLWS regardless, real good lookin car and the setup sounds fantabular...

Car is at the shop now for oil change and I am having a leak down test done to verify the engine. The engine has about 8000 miles at stock boost levels except for the 60mph to 130mph run with 116 race gas. Car shows I believe 100,000 miles but everything has been replaced so about 12,000 miles. I will get serious about offers after I get the car back.

I've got a few with similar builds and did not get too excited recently when $75K was mentioned.
