What am I doing wrong here?

I can say for the some time these end caps have stumped me. What am I doing wrong here? Are there a rear set I am missing. The catalog only show left and right but no front or rear?

Is this what you have ---->

Pelican Parts - European Automotive Parts and Accessories - Porsche • BMW • Mercedes • Volkswagen • Audi • Saab • Volvo • MINI

That's the part number straight from the Porsche PET (much different that what is stamped on the part in your pic).

Same part number for front and rear, left and right (right front = left rear & left front = right rear).

I just looked in the 1979 PET - the original part number(s) listed for your car is this -

Pelican Parts - European Automotive Parts and Accessories - Porsche • BMW • Mercedes • Volkswagen • Audi • Saab • Volvo • MINI

And if you look at the "note" it shows that the number has been superseded to the one in my first post.

And I just noticed that the part number on your caps has also been superseded to the first number I posted.

The end cap does not go all the way to the top of the rubber molding - there is a gap of about 7mm from the top edge of the rubber molding to the top edge of the end cap when installed. Is that what you are talking about? it looks to me like you just need to push the bottom of the end cap in harder, and/or press the whole thing inwards harder until the screw holes line up.

Can you do me a HUGE favor and take a detailed pic of how your rear end cap mates to your rocker panel?

I can't seem to get a decent pic with the garage lights - either too dark or too much glare, so will try in daylight tomorrow.

What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks I'm thinking that these are not really meant for 930 but they can be made too. I remember before my car went to be painted the originals fit perfectly. These are not contoured right and they do not fit the contour of the rocker panel at all.

Two possible reasons here.

#1 these are not 930 end caps.

#2 there was change to the contour and size of the 930 outer rocker.

Not sure which or any reason is the case but one think is certain.

These will not go on with out a LOT of muscling, forcing and they still don't fit the contour of the rocker panel/ fit sloppy with a huge gap.

Anyone that could help me would be greatly appreciated.

Solved these are NOS Porsche outer rockers I had replaced when the car was painted. There is a tab at the bottom of the rocker that needs bent up. See the pics below.
