Just pulled the trigger.....
After missing out on a couple of modified 930s on BAT I was happy to stumble upon this ad https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/995749-1988-porsche-930-turbo-sale.html. Price was agreed upon and hopefully ships from Florida to Washington State soon. I am a little anxious about buying a car site unseen but had a nice PPI performed and the pictures look good.
If anyone knows this car, I'd love to hear about it as I guess Florida has a neat group of people interested in 930s. I am eventually going to get it over to Turbo Kraft for some additional work, but want to spend some time rolling around with her first. Here is what I know about the build: The sequence of events on this 34,000 mile car are as follows: A decision was made to remove the stock engine in 2005-2006 at about 26,000 miles. He had owned the car for 15 years by this time. He wanted the car to keep up with, or beat new Turbos. He enlisted the professional help of Joe Rodriguez (JROD) owner of FAST FORWARD, a premier Porsche speedshop based in Ft. Lauderdale. Joe consulted Joe Eassa, a local fabrication expert as he had a working relationship with the legendary Dave Jarvis Racing Co. Jarvis built the engine and Joe Eassa fabricated the headers, Turbo (precision) and intercooler (Griffin core). The engine was installed, tuned and tested by Fast Forward. As the warranty had expired after the first year, it's now had trouble-free operation for the last 12 years. The owner, a novice driver and a casual enthusiast, is very careful with his cars and boats. Being that Jarvis had retired and Fast Forward was sold 10 years ago, the record keeping on various projects has long been discarded. Knowing this, He had asked Joe Rodriguez to inspect and scope the engine recently. What Joe found was an engine that showed virtually no signs of wear (7,500 miles) and noticed some minor seepage that was quickly rectified. What we do know is that the engine is capable of 620 hp. What we also know is that its currently tuned at about 400 rwh. However this engine is made for boost. It starts and runs strong and smooth, very streetable in its current tune. Any minor issue that would arise over the years identified and corrected by local Porsche techs, including JROD. As a multiple Porsche owner myself I can tell you that the car has been well sorted and has been a joy to drive. Dealing with Jim has also been a positive experience. He is a no nonsense guy that expects results and doesn't mind spending his money to make things right. This car reflects that. If you need any further clarification on engine components or tune, I can put you in touch with JROD. As he is a full-time Senior Captain who flys 747's for a national airline, he is frequently out of the country but can be reached by email, text or a call from time to time. We know from his memory and recent scoping that it has 964 cams, stock Porsche pistons and rods, ARP rod bolts, ARP head studs, brand new Turbo seals, Electromotive dual plug head setup and EFI. 3.3 liter. Injectors, other ignition and fuel management questions can be addressed by Joe. |

You bought a car unseen from someone with only 2 posts?
![]() I hope everything goes A OK. I'm too skeptical these days... That is one good looking 930, though! Gorgeous.

Yup, a bit terrifying. But the PPI helps a bunch, and the mechanic verified the condition of the car and stated everything looks pretty good. Hoping not to become one of those horror stories you read about buying cars though

Another one comes to Washington.....and it's even the right color!
The add did not state anything about upgraded suspension! With all that HP, now you will need to get the old suspension up to the task, can't imagine all that HP going through old stock suspension parts, I bet it's a real handful! Too bad you didn't post a "looking for" thread on here first before buying, you and I probably could have come to terms on my black-on-black 930 right here in Washington State. Oh well seems a done deal now, best of luck with the whole transaction. Mark |

Based on the description and P.C.A. For Sale add I don't think you purchased someones garage build toy. I think you purchased a, moneys no object, professional built toy.
I bet you got a really nice car. https://www.pca.org/classified-ad/327399

I will definitely post pictures when she gets here. It's great to be back in the community as my only true regret in life was selling my 73 911 with the 77 930 lump. Thanks for all the kind words!

My sister lives in Spokane, I'm just 120 miles from there. May have to hook up one of these days, run the Palouse country south down toward Pullman (where I learned how to be educated so very long ago).

Absolutely! The historic scenic byway around Lake Coeur d'Alene is also a tremendously good drive. My brother is a WSU grad too. Let me know when you are in the area. |

To the OP you typed Joe "Eassa"..did you mean Joe Essa as in the well known Essa Tech?
Looks like a great car and well built! By the way the wheels are HRE 545R are used to retail for $1,500 each. Congrats.

Good catch, I did mistype it. It is Joe Essa of Essa Tech. I really like the wheels, I am glad they are on there because that would be too rich for my blood :P Thanks, Dan Getz |
