I have 1st hand knowledge that Philip is the dream customer, knows what he wants but listens to advice, pays his bills right away and for a job well done and on time he may even give you a tip. There is absolutely zero problems on Philip's end, he's an 100% stand up guy. I don't know what John's issue is in this case, other than bad service. |

Hi John,
it looks like this thread is still alive and you answered a week ago so I take my chance. I'm desperately trying to reach you by email or phone without success. I would need my rocker arms asap. I sent them to you (with complete hardware, axle, bolts...) 2 months ago and 3 weeks ago you told me you needed 2 weeks to finish them (they have to match DC20 cams you did last year)... I'm stuck on the rebuild without them, I cannot afford to buy new ones and I have a track day I registered and paid for in less than a month! Please tell me you've finished them! :) Best regards! Philippe |
How many of you are still waiting on cams? I have a set that need regrind but this thread has me concerned.
|
I have been emailing with John the last couple weeks about a regrind of some pitted cams and he has been extremely responsive. I called and ordered a set of racing springs yesterday afternoon, they are already on the way via FedEx. My cams will arrive there next week, I hope he has them back to me quickly as promised and going from my recent experience with him I have no reason to expect any less.

I sent John my cams in 2nd week of December based on a 1 week turn around. I think this is typical, but it seems everyone gets their cams back eventually. I once lost a handgun to a gunsmith. He said 1 to 2 months. Checked back in 3 months after no answer, said was in progress. Checked in six, same. Checked after a year, same. After 2 years I gave up. Figured it was not an expensive gun, so chalk it up to never using that guy again.
That said, John's reputation for craftsmanship seems to be pretty stellar. I don't mind waiting if the work is that good. |
Webcam, no hassles.
|
I've used Webcam since Harry Weber owned it and it was called Weber Cams Clutches and Flywheels, then when Hank bought it and changed it the Webcam and now the girls. If I was in a pinch, building a hot rod VW or a hot motorcycle I would use them but for specialty Porsche cams we use DRC exclusively.

About christmas John read a post from me where I needed a camshaft gear adapter. I actually didnīt really knew what was missing. He replied and built this adapter for me. It was shipped away to me(germany) within a few days. Got it and it looks great. Very helpfull to me!!!

I had an excellent experience with John. His price quote was very fair and I received his DC-30 cams in a timely manner. I love the power band of these cams. I would do business with him again in a heart beat.

My response seems out of place due to an edited post by another contributor that I responded to. Certainly take my input for face value: I haven't had dealings with John other than seeing a thread or two pop up like clock work about someone who is delayed for months and asking for alternatives. I also hear he really knows how to fit a cam profile to an engine application.

Thanks again John, Paul |
Sounds like his rough patch is over and is back on track.
|
I don't post on forums often however I'm not sure the rough patch is over. Still waiting! A month late and not much action on the reply front. Such a shame as John has a wicked reputation across the pond.

Shipped my cams to John on 1/11/14, they are done and on a FedEx truck on their way back to me.. Thank you John!!

I heard from John yesterday. Have a shipping number and will be in my hands on Monday. Thankyou John. Like I said before you came highly recommended and I can't wait to fit them.
