Ugh... Anyone heard from John? At least three weeks of calling and nobody's home.

Something must be up, he was excellent communicating with me and delivered exactly when he said he would..

Per Gothberg should have already had his camshafts.

Looks like they are still in customs.

i'am slowly loosing my wife to cancer,it turns your life upside down, time and work take a back seat, you just do what you can do,I had to quit a high paying job to become a full time caregiver.
My P car projects are suffering accordingly but you get there.
Keep up the good work, feel for you in your situation ,its hard for others to see.

Update.. Got through to John today.. Cams are going out in the mail. It's been hard knowing how much to worry about stuff like this.. I'm ok with waiting as long as it takes but when you can't get in touch with someone who has your stuff you start to get nervous! At least I do.

jpilcher 07-24-2014 06:44 PM

Anxiously waiting for my DC13 cams. I was told they would be ready in 2 weeks.
That was a month ago. I have been trying to get in touch with John through
email and phone, no response. This is the last thing I need to finish my motor.
Anyone had any dealing with John in last few days?

Regards

J

Just keep the faith.. For whatever reason it seems like there can be time hangups with DRC. He came through for me and despite a little bit of stressing trying to contact him, I'd probably go to him again. Keep calling and good luck.

I went through the same deal. I didnt need them in a hurry ... I was headed out to sea so he had 2-3 months to put me on the back burner if needed. I told him this and paid him in advance. Well after a month of being promised they were done and ready to ship I finally sent him a email that must have lit a fire because I got my cams a few days later. Def worth the wait but it did bother me a bit. I had to cut the cam drives off myself as they got forgotten about. John did mention he would do it and pay shipping but I just got my cams after the wait and the promise of 2 day turn around didnt sound doable. I sure he is spread thin but it doesnt mean you need make promises that are unachievable to make the customer feel good and not be able to deliver.

Again great cams but I hope the customer relations are ironed out in the future.

I'm a little stressed, opted for the billet cams, and I don't want to end up at the bottom of the list with my engine builder. Maybe John will read this and priority ship them to me.

Thanks guys.

I just had a dealing with John that went very well. I contacted him by phone, after a couple of tries, and discussed my needs with him. He reground cams that he had in stock as well as reconditioned rockers that he had in stock while waiting for my original units to arrive as replacements. He contacted me immediately upon receipt of my goods and said that he was shipping my new parts the next day. The deal went as smooth as can be expected and probably even better than. I would certainly deal with him again if I were in the need. Very tech savy and willing to work with you.

I have had John grind two sets of cams for me, one set in the last few months. I haven't had an issue. You do have to be patient since he is a one man show. This is probably easier for me since my car is not a daily driver.

kenikh 07-27-2014 03:11 PM

John has done more sets for me than I can recall. Every set has come back to me in the exact time period he quoted. New and regrind, maybe 20 sets over 9 years.

Had a very short email response from John 2 days ago, saying he would check into
status, and no further communication. I have tried calling, and leaving several messages. I'm getting very furstrated. I paid through Paypal, so transaction should be insured. Not sure where to go from here.

My DC60's took around 10 weeks to deliver...

jpilcher 07-29-2014 09:14 AM

Was it worth the wait? Thinking of switching to Elgin or Web Cams.
Anybody with some insight?

jpilcher 07-29-2014 09:19 AM

Just received my tracking number. Cams are on their way. What a relief.

Thanks John

I just received two sets of cams I was waiting for for a couple of months.
John is very busy but the product is worth the wait.
Sometimes in a small business, things don't go as planned. Be patient, John is working to catch up.

blomman 10-18-2025 08:54 AM

Just got message from him!
Thanks!
