Exclamation R1200s Power commander V Auto tune power source?

Afternoon Folks, installed a Power commander V last night and temporarily used Auxiliary port hot wire for the Auto tune module.
Installed European stock bike map from power commander as a starting point.

My temp wire is not working or auxiliary port shut it self off, will check problem this weekend.

Where can I get switched 5amp power on a BMW R1200s?

You can use the GPS plug on the left fairing bracket. That plug is switched.

It's been quite a few years, but I think I just wired my PC to the battery?? I will have to check on that though.

Remember with a CanBus system, you can't just tap into any wire.

Cheers

You only need to wire it strait to the battery.
Nothing more, nothing less...

On the former GSX1400 I followed that same route ; worked wunderbar.

The Autotune module, not the power commander

I'll go look for that GPS plug tonight. The power commander just plugs in plus a ground, the autotune needs a 5A source.

Just to close thread, I used the auxiliary port power to trigger a relay for the Autotune 5A (on warmup) power.

Can't believe how much smoother the bike is now than stock. First gear is now usable in tight corners and power on and off transitions don't upset the bike. Also now threatens to lift the front wheel which it didn't do before when pushed out of second gear corners.

Decat in a few weeks coming.
