Has anybody tried swapping wheels between R1200S and HP2 Sport?

Those of you that own both the R1200S and the HP2 Sport, have you tried swapping the wheels? I am wondering if there is any problem with doing something like that. I am considering obtaining some wheels for my HP2 Sport and I am told that getting ones that fit the R1200S will mean that they will fit the HP2 Sport. Just wondering if anybody has any ground truth on this.

...the rear should fit as is, for the front, you might have to turn some spacers...

But, at that price I'd try to get some Schnitzer or MagTen wheels...

I was looking to get either the BSTs or the Dymags. However, I do not see the BSTs listed for the HP2 Sport, only for the R1200S. Hence the question, whether or not anybody thinks they would fit.

Where did you get the BSTs from?

From MotoWheels, I see:

BST 7 Spoke Front Wheel: R1200S/R
Sale Price: $1,555.00

BST 7 Spoke Rear Wheel: K1200,R1200
Sale Price: $1,950.00

The $3k price seems great, and I would be interested in the deal if they will fit.

I can't find anybody who will sell the Dymags.

Whats the price on the BMW forged wheels? I guess if I was going to pay $3k for a set of HP wheels I would want them to be noticably different by more than a slight color change, I could paint the stockers and pretend they were trick. There is no debating the trickness of the CF wheels!

HP forged wheels

Forged wheels are not only especially light and stable, they also guarantee improved running due to the high level of production precision.
The HP forged wheels thus increase dynamics since the rotating masses are reduced.

How much are those forged wheels, will they fit an R1200S, and is there a 6" rear one if I want to remount my 190x50 tire?

Do the BST CF set also have a 6" available? Decisions, decisions...

If you are talking about the BMW forged wheels for the R1200S:

http://www.webparts.com/diagram.php?btnr=36_1284&mospid=49426&hg=36&fg=10

http://www.webparts.com/diagram.php?btnr=36_1285&mospid=49426&hg=36&fg=10

Chicago BMW Motorcycles lists them at:

71607710904 FORGED WHEEL FRONT S Our Price:$1,114.40

71607709398 FORGED WHEEL REAR S Our Price: $1,174.40

As for the BST CF set that's on the motowheels website:

BST Carbon Fiber 7 spoke "Mamba" Front Street Wheel for BMW R1200S and R1200R in a 3.5" width.
Sale Price: $1,555.00

BST Carbon Fiber 7 spoke "Mamba" Rear Street Wheel for BMW R1200S, R1200R K1200S, K1200R and K1200G in a 6.0" width.
Sale Price: $1,950.00

Problem for me right now is that nobody from motowheels or BST is getting back to me on whether or not these will fit an HP2 Sport.

Got it, SL, and thanks. If sheddr can get me a set of BST like these for the R1200S for $3K, I'm in. Sheddr, can you see about it, please?

Oh, and SL, 4 X 63137708048 for the R1200S or 2 of those in front, and 2 of 63237710574 in back?

EMA got back to me, with a half answer:

We are waiting to hear from BST to see if they have the correct application for the HP2 sport. They should be around $3750. I will let you know as soon as I hear from them.

Negative response from one.

BST Rims - BMW R1200S / R (Street Set)
# 3.5" x 17" Front / 6" x 17" Rear
# Front wheels comes with carriers (L & R) attached
# Use OEM bolts on front & rear wheels
# 1 set of Front & Rear wheels
# Recommended sizes
# Save $80!
OPBST1002-001 $3795.00

No, those wheels will not fit your bike. BST is planning on making 7-spoke wheels for the HP2 Sport. It is yet to be confirmed but is on the 2009 production list. I cannot say when they will be manufactured but when new wheel models are released, BMW will definitely be one of the first ones. I will note your email request and when they give us a heads-up, we can contact you via email.

These are the 7 spokers I bought, I don't see from your description why the answer was no.

I'm sorry shreddr but no way do those "wagon wheels" look good on my go-fast HP2S. Where's the style? I understand the lighter part.
