But the R1200S imperium will strike back and we'll see how the countermeasures will work.

Or to say it with ZZ TOP: ..... but I'll be back for you Jack and let the machine speak

And if you ask why the trade with this kit will be delayed until fall 2011: Before those kits reach customers' bikes, they will be tested in street bikes as well as in rough used racing bikes for a longer period over thousands and thousands of Kilometres / miles.
Customers shall receive a good product and not be misused as test pilots.
Kurt Roesner and also Woesssner built up their good reputation for quality and for testing their stuff before selling it.
Sofatester, what mods have been made to yours?

Rather interesting the number of posts and yet the 1100s has never had a great deal of interest over the years despite various options or folk prepared to try!!!

I'm not sure I'm following exactly but I would guess that most owners of the r1100s were genuinely content using the bike for the original intended purpose of sport touring, cases, etc. Sure it's fun to tinker when the cost isn't great, or you can recover your money by selling the parts down the road. But as for big bore kits and stuff where you sink unrecoverable money into the engine, the cost / benefit is probably not there.

There has been 3 options over the years,I guess I've always viewed the SJ option as the least exotic, and I'm not sure the other two aren't the same

Stay with the diet, Ken. It's the cheapest way to gain performance that i know of. BTW I just returned from my bicycle ride on the newly shod 1975 Peugeot Cadre Allege that I purchased new in September 1975. See, Hancock, I don't sell off every bike I own.

247.8 this morning down from 275 on 1/4/11 so the HP gain will be from me AND the engine mods. BMI still says, Obese. I'm halfway to my goal of 220.
I'd still buy the big bore kit if it was available. Ever since working at AMOL Precision, I wanted a boxer built to the balls so I enjoy modifying my R12S.
Got some more cosmetic changes coming soon that will really make it unique.

@Chris: Bernhard Baldes and Schüle did that. Don't know more, I'm sorry.
The times when I owned a R1100S are over since 2007.
