OBD2 code reader

My check engine light has come on constantly on my 98 Boxster. I was wondering if any generic OBD2 reader can be used to acquire trouble codes and where can you find info on meaning of individual codes?

I just went to Autozone and they read it and printed out the explanation.

Go to eBay for a generic OBDII code reader. You can get them in the $20-25 range and it comes with a code book.

thanks agian Todd the motor is working great !

i have been clearing the codes and each time it takes longer to come on so maybe as soon as all the corrosion burns off i won't need anything.
