My boxter 2000s has sat for two months. I briefly started it last week 10 second max with the normal white smoke and noise. I started the car this afternoon again a very loud knocking sound on the right side of the engine has made me very concerned. Even after the car ran idel to operating temp the load knocking noise from the right side of the motor did not go away. What is the ptoblem

If you had no noises in your engine prior to storing it for a few mouths I suspect the lifters have bleed down. You did not state if you drive your car to get the engine temp up or left it idle. Try starting it and running the PRM to around 2500 for a few minuetes or until normal engine temp is acheived. Hopefully the noise will go away. If the noise gains intensity a further diagnosis will be needed.
