Engine Drop
I'm pretty sure that I want to drop my engine as per this thread:

Hello, I am in Burlington and have a 73T which I recently did a total rebuild on. I may be able to help but can provide some guidance for sure. You will need a few things though. Some high jack stands, a high lift jack and what I used to drop the motor was one of those motorcycle type jacks. Worked extremely well. You'll want to pull the motor and tranny as a unit. Also removing the rear body panel will allow you to clear the motor without having to lift the car dangerously high.

I am willing to work for free.. no beer or Pizza required.. I can provide a jack (but onyl goes 22".. it's the Canadian tire Michelin).
I just need to know when. I'm Mechanically inclined and do all my work myself... why do I feel like I'm applying to a garage job! Seriously, if you need a hand, I'm there. I haven't done it before, but this certainly isn't rocket science. I also don't think you need a high jack, especially if you do it in steps and have 2X4's around for adding height to the car and/or jack. I'm going to need some help with mine some day as well!

Joe, I am really really impressed with your rebuild. That seems like a huge undertaking but your engine looks sweet now. Seeing some of your issues has kind of scared me off of dropping my engine considering that I just solved my main oil leak (leaking connection on one of the hard oil lines). I'm in the middle of doing some upgrades to my engine-- carrera tensioners, painting muffler and wheels. Unless I free up some more 'car time', I think I'm going to hold off on dropping the engine until something serious breaks (knock on wood).

My engine drop this weekend has stalled as we can't get the 72 specific hard oil line off of the oil filter housing.
Anyone local willing to help out???? Allen Road and Eglinton area in Toronto. Thanks. Richard

What kind of help are you looking for? hands?experience? tools?
edit: I used a torch alongside a liquid wrench product. Did that for a few days.

Hey Richard, don't think I'll be able to help much this week, maybe next week though. Have you tried PB Blaster? That's what I used on my hard oil lines when they wouldn't budge, after destroying one of them. It took about 12-15 hours of spray and let soak every couple hours, but it worked like magic.

I agree that PB Blaster rocks. I've cleaned out the gunk and sprayed the connection. Hopefully, I will get it to give this week and I can finish up the drop next weekend.
Otherwise, everything else came off really smoothly. I think that the engine could be dropped less than an hour after the hard oil line is detached. I guess I was looking for someone who had better knowledge/skill with engines who could tell me what I was doing wrong. However, this board pretty much answered all the questions. Tyson, real550a and wangrande came through in a big way for me. You guys are more than welcome to come over for some beers and check out the drop next weekend. We'll need the support.

The engine drop really depends on whether I can get that hard oil line connection off. I'll be spraying it everyday this week. Steve, Phil and I definitely will be working on it on Saturday-- stop by if you can. Chris and Mark, I will e-mail you the address and directions (there is a cool short cut off the Allen).
We should make it a mini-meet as it is supposed to be nice next weekend. Steve needs the push to get a 911.

BTW, the third pic above is the back of my aunt's house. The garage is in front of the car so you can see the great privacy and room to work there.
