Hum I think that's a steal.
I agree and also think there may be a legal issue about posting PPI results for a car.
Giving advise or suggestions about repair issues concerning vehicles on Pelican or Rennlist is on a friendly volunteer basis and is considered free with a disclaimer.

But a PPI is paid for by an interested party and if someone wants to know more details one has the choice of either getting their own PPI done or getting one with a substantial discount like the one above.

I believe the requests to post the PPI results were made to satisfy curiosity and not for a possible purchase of the TT.

When a car comes along that fits the criteria, hesitating and tire-kicking isn't going to do it. The elusive Porsche that fits the bill and has a bargain price is an illusion; you'll pay one way or another and a PPI is never wasted money, IMHO.

Be interested if you new owner wanted to post what were the issues. Just for curiousity sake

If not, good luck with the fix and hope to see it on Vancouver rds soon! I'll keep an eye out for it if im cruising down kingsway.

Appearently a 993 problem. Best exchanged with a rebuild rack. Make sure the brace 993-347-131-02 goes back on with the new rack.

Alternator noise....................most expensive alternator I have ever looked up!!!!

I remember Rob having a problem with it couple years ago but...................don't need a new one, it can be rebuild.

Replacing the belts requires a triple-square 10 mm tool and a 24? mm (or 15/16") which is not included in the tool kit but you'll need them. Check if someone added these 2 tools.

I took a 15/16" and cut it in half using the box-end piece for changing the belt.

Also, get a DME relay as a spare, highly recommended.

Oh, what fun.

I am looking at a similar car, TT 96 55km. Wondering what you think about it having a 4k$ damage ICBC declaration at some point. Car has been repaired and looks great. Is this a concern or not? Haven't had a PPI yet. Not sure whether to proceed.
Thanks

$4000 damage cannot be major and ICBC can tell you what the claim/repair was.

Is that a BC vehicle from day one?
Or an import from?
If from the US, I'd do a Carfax.
Can you get total history?

55k km is low.

Oh, oops, that should read 55k miles. It is a US vehicle. Just wondering if a damage claim in that amount is a problem. Has had the 450hp upgrade done to it. Will probably look in to it further.
Thanks

Wow leave you guys alone for a few days. Had a buddy on facebook hint that this was here.

First, welcome Trev and I'm sure you'll love owning the car and also being a Pelican member!
Shoot me an email and I'll send you what info I have on file. sold@bigrob.ca
Ed had the original service records and some excellent manuals; not sure if you got them.

I did put a new alternator in it about 3 years ago; that was the extent of any major work I did to it. Best car I ever owned. Make sure you disconnect the battery when charging or storing. It also ate belts when I had it? Pain in the but. Get yourself a V1 radar detector too!

Look forward to hearing from you and Congrats on the car, I'm glad it worked out for you.
Cheers,

If you are looking for a nice TT, there is one in Ontario black on black with 45,000 km.

Check Rennlist on the Canada page.
