Baz, have you checked out RRC restoration? He has a video detailing electro plating small parts. Doesn't look too complicated.
That blue Interceptor is pretty, but I'm partial to the old air head you have stashed away.

Best
Les

Back at Hells Revenge…

After he did Hells Gate with a big audience…

Tonight’s 70 hour top end rebuild… it isn’t even 9 months old yet.

This photo as taken by a hiker as I climbed out of a creek at the end of Steelbender before we left Moab on Thursday morning.

It was a great week and we got in tons of riding. I can’t wait until next time…

Nice pics of you and your son, Billy - way to go!

Am picking up another White '87 RC26 tomorrow. This will be my second of that year and that color, minus the first one I bought, which had been nicely re-painted Yellow.

Then today....I made arrangements for yet another White RC26....this one an '86. Which will be my second of that year and that color. This one will need to be transported from NY, which I already have scheduled for April 14-15.

Both of these have not been run nor ridden in a few years, so likely will need fuel system work and hydraulic brake/clutch work.

But the plastics on both are intact and look great and overall both machines are in very good nick. I can do the mechanical work needed so looking forward to getting them back on the road, at some point later this year.

These White RC26's are special!

Looong drive to bring this one home today. Fortunately all went OK.

Has a few deficiencies but nothing I can't resolve given a little time and elbow grease.....

Looks great, have you ordered a truckload of new tires for your bikes? Really like the looks of that bike in white.

Thank you!

Going to work on the tires one bike at a time. I already have extra wheels and 2 sets of brand new tires.

Working on a service log right now with a separate binder for each bike and a punch list for all service items, including battery and tires.

Once I get that done, I will create a priority list.

And...believe it or not........once each bike is up to speed on all maintenance items, I can begin the process of thinning the herd.

Gotta be easier to sell a bike that is completely rode worthy and comes with a punch list on those items.

It's actually called "Pearl White", Shaun.

My friend in Illinois, who has been restoring these bikes for years tells me it's almost impossible to find a color matching "white" for these. Even from ColorRite, who boasts having exact OEM matching paint.

In fact, I think they gave up as their webpage for this year and model only shows the other color available for that year...Candy Wave Blue.

You can go to a local professional paint shop and they will mix up a rattle can of the factory color for you. You just need the Honda color code.

The pearl looks really nice. Would like to see it and the blue bike together for a photo shoot.

Forgot to mention - this one has the 17" 6 spoke CBR rear wheel conversion, that is popular for some who are looking for a wider range of tire options. The factory rear size is 18" and the front is 16".

I think this is what my friend is saying. Just having the color code isn't enough, no matter who makes up the paint. You'd have to take the fairing in and have someone do some kind of match deal.

I actually plan to re-paint all the fairings on my "collector" bikes, so won't have to do any matching stuff.

Here's a Blue, White, and RWB - all in a row......

I guess it depends on the shop Baz. Blue and white look great together, sort of christmasee.

Or maybe "patriotic!"

I like all the colors from the factory those 2 years......RWB, Blue, and White.

The RWB bike in that photo (I think) was originally White and a previous owner did a RWB tribute on it.

Here's that bike again and then below it how they came from the factory.....

I left mine at 15 front and rear. Some guys had less and came home with flat tires. One guy had a mouse but it wouldn’t help there.

I don’t think you would want any less than 15 in the front there because when you climb the ledges it’s pretty hard on stuff.

The slick rock has so much traction… unless it’s covered in sand (fins and things).

The hiker came running up to me and I was worried I splashed him or something… he was so excited about the pic, I asked if he would text it to me and he did when he got cell coverage.

Couple items that might be of interest....

Good article here on motorcycle electric fundamentals:

https://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/how-it-works-charging-system-fundamentals/

Also....Bridgestone is hosting their Spring rebate event now through June 30. Get $60 or $70 back on a set of Battlax tires.

https://www.bridgestonemotorcycletires.com/en-us/index

For good prices and help with these tires/rebates, I order mine through:

https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/tires-and-wheels

I just ordered 2 pairs of Battlax B46's!
