Thats Awesome. Your gonna enjoy it. I'm currently on a solo cross country motorcycle trip. Taking 6 weeks. Going from California to the east coast and back and throwing in the Mid Atlantic BDR. I don't do boring freeways. Taking primarily backroads and chasing the gold routes on the Butler maps.....I Just left Arkansas a few days ago. Excellent riding. I had already planned to to ride a bunch of stuff there as I spent 3 days visiting a friend in Mountain Home. A few days before I left, I was at the dealer getting some work done on my bike and saw that exact article, copied it and pretty much rode all of it. It really is Excellent riding, I had no idea the riding would be that good. Its so good that I'm currently in Nashville and had to get another rear tire. The first one lasted 3200 miles, although It was really done in Arkansas, but no one had a replacement tire. Wanted to have good rubber as I head toward the Cherohala Skyway, Tail of the dragon and Blue Ridge Parkway, then on to Damascus Virginia to start the MABDR. Now hopefully this rain will pass.....Have fun. Watch for the turtles and dead armadillos

Michael, that is quite a trip you are going on! As much as I enjoy motorcycle riding, I’m not sure I could handle six weeks straight! Those Butler maps are Definitely worth having. And like you, I avoid the interstate whenever possible. Which is pretty much all the time.

It was.
I time myself on particular this loop. Takes me just under 30 min. A local who races national level harescambles was out too. When I made it back to the base, I asked him his time. 18 minutes and some change. When I didn't hear him start with a "two" sound I knew I was really slow. Packing now for a trip out west. Some Az some Nv. some Ut.

Since your hand is free from most clutching duties a brake lever is added which allows you to control the rear brake. There are times when you want to put your right foot down, but also need to use the brake. Imagine downhill switchbacks. It is easy to dab the left foot, but can you get off the brake to use your right when wanted.
I'll enjoy my cheater clutch and not stall almost ever.

Herd of elk in the background. They will be gone by hunting season in two weeks, but I would have one hell of a time getting one home like this anyway.
